Tripura has registered 10 more COVID19 positive cases taking the state’s total to 242.

Confirming the news, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet at 11.07 pm on Wednesday said 1,020 samples were tested on the day for COVID19, out of which 10 were found positive.

Chief minister Deb said while 5 of the infected patients are returnees from Chennai and Bangalore, 4 others are returnees from Mumbai while 1 is a railway pantry staff member.

“1020 samples have been tested today for COVID-19, out of which 1??0?? people detected #POSITIVE. 5 returnees from Chennai & Bangalore, 4 returnees from Mumbai & 1 railway pantry staff,” chief minister Deb tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of active cases registered in Tripura has increased to 74.

Earlier, a total of 165 COVID19 patients were discharged from hospitals in Tripura while 3 cases migrated.

There is no report of death due to COVID19 infection so far.

“Positive Cases: 242. Active Cases: 74. Discharged: 165. Migrated: 3,” Deb added.

Tripura is in the second spot of the list of COVID19 positive cases registered in Northeast India.

Assam continues to top the list of COVID19 cases in the region.

Till the filing of this report, Assam has registered a total of 774 COVID19 positive cases with 4 deaths.
