On the day when the total number of COVID19 positive cases registered in Assam crossed 1,500 mark, 40 more patients, earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from hospitals in the state.
Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 update said the patients have been discharged after they tested negative for the virus twice.
The health minister informed that 12 COVID19 patients have been discharged from the district hospital in Golaghat and 18 patients have been discharged from the Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH).
He also said 9 other COVID19 patients have been discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital at Panbazar in Guwahati and one patient has been discharged from the district hospital in Dhemaji.

With the discharge of the 40 more patients, the total number of discharged patients from the hospitals in Assam has risen to 324.
Assam has so far registered a total of 1,513 COVID19 positive cases and the active cases in the state stand at 1,182.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam so far while 3 cases migrated from the state.
