Assam has registered 73 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,463.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 9.06 pm on Monday said, out of the infected patients, 30 are air travellers, who arrived in the state from Kuwait.
The rest of the infected patients are from Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi, Kamrup, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Nagaon and Jorhat districts.
The health minister informed that 23 are from Barak valley including 12 from Cachar district, 9 from Karimganj and 2 from Hailakandi district.
He also informed that a total of 10 COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Kamrup, 7 in Kokrajhar, 1 each in Barpeta, Nagaon and Jorhat district.
“Alert ~ 73 new cases of #COVID19+. 30 air travellers, arrived from Kuwait. 12 Cachar, 10 Kamrup, 9 Karimganj, 7 Kokrajhar, 2 Hailakandi, 1 each from Barpeta/Nagaon/Jorhat,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
On Monday, Assam has registered so far 102 positive cases.
With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases registered in Assam stands at 1,179.
Earlier, a total of 277 COVID19 were discharged from various hospitals in Assam after their complete recovery.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons while 3 cases migrated from the state.
