The students of Gauhati University and its affiliated colleges will not be able to cherish their summer break as the varsity is mulling to curtail it.

The curtailment will be effective in every university departments and the colleges and institutions affiliated by it.

This, however, largely depends upon the success of the contaminant of the spread of COVID-19.

The notification disclosing this by the Registrar of the varsity on Thursday which has the approval of the Vice-Chancellor of the varsity read,

“We are all aware that the country is facing an extraordinary situation out of the spread of COVID-19 and consequent lockdown,” the notification stated.

“Like all academic situation we are now to take a challenge as to how to maintain and revamp the academic schedule which has already been unavoidably disrupted that has brought uncertainty to the students in particular, and academic community as a whole,” it added.

The notification also stated that the regular activities would resume once the situation is declared congenial by the Centre and the state government.
