A total of 38 returnees from different parts of the country have tested negative for Covid-19 in Bokajan.
Altogether 88 people came back to Bokajan in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district from other parts of the country including from coronavirus hotspots.
“Since lifting of the interstate travel ban in the state, 88 people have arrived in Bokajan from different parts of the country. 13 more are on their way and are expected to reach tomorrow. 38 of these returnees have tested negative and we are awaiting reports of others,” said an official.
“The lists of all negative testing returnees have been forwarded to the DC as they are to be released from quarantine gradually after approval from the district committee,” the official added.
While the reports of other returnees are awaited, Bokajan police have appealed to people not to panic and believe in rumors about corona virus.
Police have also advised people to strictly abide by the health advisory and remain indoors as a safety measure to protect themselves and their family from contacting the deadly virus.
