The Kamrup Chamber of Commerce (KCC) on Thursday assured Assam Government that it will work for the government and public to maintain supply of food items and and check their prices.
Notably, state chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal had appealed all KCC members to maintain food item supply and also advised them to maintain the price and stock to avoid any scarcity.

Chamber president Mahavir Jain while assuring all support had requested the chief minister’s office that buffer stock of FCI also needed equally.
The KCC suggested at least three lakh ton rice and one lakh ton wheat needs to be stored in different districts area wise.
However, half of the quantity of rice is already available with the FCI.

The release also stated that the Chamber is ready to provide the control room with supply officer at Chamber office to collect the report of other districts and if required solve the problem in case any shortage arises.
The Chamber also assured that other trade associations in different districts of the State will work together to maintain supply chain in every part of the districts.
It also assured the government that from the wholesale shops will be opened for retailers.
Meanwhile, the State Government has also assured to provide facilities of loading and unloading at railway points, movement of food grains by trucks and advised all police stations and other authority for smooth movemnt of food items.
Kamrup Chamber of Commerce has also announced Rs 11 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund for Covid 19.
It also appealed all other trade bodies to come forward for the relief fund in this difficult period.
