The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on Friday evening detected three Nigerians including a woman with forged passports at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Internatyional (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati.

According to information, the three Nigerians were nabbed by the CISF personnel during regular checking at the LGBI Airport.

They were supposed to board a flight to Mumbai via Kolkata.

It has been learnt that the trio has been handed over to the police at Azara Police Station near Borjhar.

It is yet to be known if any suspicious things have been found in their possession or not.

Azara police are interrogating the Nigerians about the plan of the trio in India.

It may be mentioned that Nigerians get caught from time to time in various parts of India either for possessing drugs or for using fake visa or passport.

Nigerian players also fall in security officials net for using forged visa or passport.

In another such case, Nigerian football star Daniel Bidemi has reportedly been arrested in India for using fake visa to stay in India, say media reports.

The 31-year-old forward footballer, who currently plays for Tollygunge Agragami, scored one goal after eleven appearances for the club.

Daniel Bidemi has also featured for several clubs in Kolkata according to reports from local reports as quoted by Qed.ng.

The publication claimed Anandapur police revealed that Bidemi was staying with his wife who hails from the state, at a rented flat at Madurdah in Anandapur.

An unnamed Security Control Office was said to have reported the footballer from Nigeria to the police who eventually raided his apartment and arrested him.

Bidemi had earlier been deported in 2015 through Indira Gandhi International Airport, say reports.
