Budding chefs from Guwahati got a chance to cook for noted Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, at Big Bazaar outlet, City Square, Bhangagarh, on Monday evening.

The participants cooked at a live cookery show-cum-competition named Who is my Wonderchef, organized by kitchenware brand Wonderchef.

Around 100 participants registered to showcase their culinary skills. 12 of them were selected to have their dishes tasted and judged by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

After attending the event, Kapoor said, “I am very happy to see the zeal and enthusiasm of the people of Guwahati and all the participants have exceeded my expectations. Such competitions are great because they bring out the cooking talents of people which would otherwise remain confined to their kitchens.”

Barnali Borah who cooked rice dumplings with chicken and sesame won the competition whereas Hasna Begum was first runners-up. Harsha Sharma and Arpita Karmakar were jointly adjudged second runners-up.

“Words cannot describe my happiness right now. To be adjudged the winner by someone who has been like a guru for all these years is truly a dream come true,” Bornali said, reports The Telegraph.

All the winners were awarded certificates and crockery sets after the competition.

Managing Director (MD) Wonderchef, Ravi Saxena said, “Through this competition we hope to provide a platform to the budding chefs of the city to showcase their culinary talents and motivate them to keep cooking good, healthy food.”
