The oath-taking ceremony of the Religious Minority Council (RMC), BTC was held at the Bodoland Guest House in Kokrajhar on Thursday.

The Chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary attended the function as the Chief Guest.

A 71-member committee of the RMC which was formed recently with new President Afjal Haque Sarkar, General Secretaries Ainal Haque and Razaul Haque took oath on Thursday.

Talking to reporter, the new RMC President, Afjal Haque Sarkar said, “The RMC has been working for all-round development, peace and harmony in the BTC region among all sections of the people and will continue working always with the ruling party, BPF, in BTC region.”

Hagrama Mohilary said, “Religious Minority Council is associated with the Bodo people since the Bodoland movement and has huge contributions during the Bodland movement period and in the formation of the BTC. They are still associated with us and are working for the development of the BTC region and for peace and harmony in the region.”

The Chief Adviser of Religious Minority Council, Baktar Ali Ahmed, former President Gulzar Mullah Hussain, Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary, former MLA Pradip Kumar Brahma were also present in the oath-taking ceremony.
