Two suspected cattle smugglers were shot dead by a Border Security Force (BSF) patrolling party on Thursday night in Mankachar at India-Bangladesh border.

The BSF reported the duo was trying to cross the border and smuggle cattle to Bangladesh.

The two were shot at by the BSF when they refused to stop on being asked to do so.

The two died on the stop.

One of the deceased has been identified as Abdus Sabur, while the identity of the second person is yet to be ascertained.
