The railway police on Monday arrested two persons and recovered a consignment of 45 kg of ganja from their possession at Guwahati Railway Station.
The police said the arrested persons are brother and sister.
The accused man has been identified as 28-year-old Wabor Kharpuri Chinrem and the woman has been identified as 32-year-old Dorisa Chinrem.
The brother-sister duo hails from East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya and their father’s name is Drobel Chinrem.
The duo has been arrested from the DBRT Rajdhani Express (12423) at 7 am on Monday.
The train was to travel from Guwahati to Delhi.
After the arrest of the brother-sister duo, the police seized the 45 kg consignment of ganja from them.
The brother-sister duo brought the huge consignment of ganja to Guwahati Railway Station by a taxi from Meghalaya.
According to the railway police, the market price of the ganja would be around Rs 5 lakh.
