On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modiโs visit to Dhemaji in Assam, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the lighting system in Bogibeel Bridge over the Brahmaputra at Dibrugarh.
Chief minister Sonowal inaugurated the lighting system in presence of Union minister for food processing industries, Rameswar Teli.
The longest rail-cum-road bridge in India was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25, 2018.
The bridge connects Dibrugarh direct with the Dhemaji district.
Prime Minister Modi will visit Dhemaji on Monday (February 22, 2021) where he will launch several projects including three major projects in the oil sector.

Sharing the news of the lighting systemโs inauguration, the Chief Ministerโs Office (CMO) tweeted on Sunday evening: โCM Shri @sarbanandsonwal inaugurated lighting system installed at Bogibeel Bridge in Dibrugarh. Union MoS Shri @Rameswar_Teli and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.โ

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on its Twitter handle said: โThe longest rail cum road bridge in India was inaugurated by Honโble PM @NarendraModi ji on 25.12.18 which provided connectivity between North & South bank of mighty Brahmaputra. On the eve of his visit to Assam, the bridge is beautifully lit to welcome him with all its grandeur.โ
Railway minister Piyush Goyal also tweeted: โLet There Be Light: The Bogibeel Bridge Bridge at night in Assam decked up with colourful lights to welcome PM@NarendraModi Ji.โ
