The ruling BJP has prepared a panel of three candidates for the three out of four constituencies that are going to by-polls on October 21.
While the panel of three candidates each have been finalized for Rangapara, Sonari and Ratabari constituencies, the party is looking for aspirants in Jania constituency.
The by-election to four constituencies—Rangapara, Sonari, Ratabari and Jaia necessitated after the sitting legislators contested the Lok Sabha elections and won.
The BJP election committee held a meeting on Wednesday and finalized the names for the three constituencies.
Assam BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass was assigned to make a panel of candidates for the Jania constituency in Barpeta district.
While the panel for Rangapara constituency includes Batash Orang, Keshav Upadhaya and Rajen Borthakur, the panel for Sonari constituency included Nandita Handiqui, Anup Singh Rajpurohit and Sakhyar Gogoi.
The panel for Ratabari constituency includes Vijay Malakar, Joydeb Das and Sunil Bin, party sources said.
