Gogoi expressed scepticism about the longevity of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, predicting that Modi’s leadership style may prevent him from completing a full five-year term.

He stated that the INDIA bloc’s increased numbers in Parliament would prevent the BJP from bulldozing bills and suspending MPs without resistance.

โ€œThey had suspended 146 MPs last year; will they suspend 236 this time?โ€ the Congress MP from Assam questioned.

Dismissing claims that NDA allies like TDPโ€™s Chandrababu Naidu and JD-Uโ€™s Nitish Kumar succumbed to the BJP during government formation, Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi described them as โ€œshrewd political mindsโ€ whose true intentions would be revealed over time.

โ€œTill the time Modi is there as PM, I donโ€™t think their approach to Parliament is going to change,โ€ Gaurav Gogoi said, accusing the BJP of trying to bulldoze, suspend, disqualify, and poach.
