A meeting cum workshop on Atal Amrit Abhiyan was held on Wednesday at Haflong Cultural Institute Hall at Haflong in Dima Hasao district. The Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa was present on the occasion.

The Government of Assam has launched the health assurance scheme “Atal Amrit Abhiyan” providing cashless treatment and coverage of critical care targeted at the BPL population and Low Income households.

This scheme will cover all individuals of BPL families and APL families (families with annual income between 1.2 lakh and 5 lakh) for benefits of cashless medical treatment in empanelled  hospitals, both within and outside the state, upto  Rs. 2 lakhs per annum per eligible individual. At present treatment facilities shall be provided for 438 nos of procedure in the 6 disease groups such as Cardiovascular diseases, Cancer, Kidney diseases, Neo natal diseases, Neurological conditions, Burns. This scheme is not applicable to those families under the government employment.

Each individual adult member of the eligible families will be enrolled for the purpose through the Implementation Support Agency (ISA) and will be issued with a laminated ID card having a unique identification number to facilitate cashless treatment facility at the empanelled hospitals. Children below 18 years of age will be enrolled with the head of the family.

The enrolment for Atal Amrit Abhiyan is being implemented by the implementation support agency (ISA) and MD India health insurance TPA pvt limited.

It is to be noted that for enrollment of the beneficiaries, their documents and other credentials are verified and authenticated by the verifying officers (VO). Verificationis being done as per govt of Assam issued guidelines for each polling booth which will further be communicated to the district level committee.

The district level committee comprises of Principal Secretary of NCHAC who will act as the chairman, Joint Director of Health services as Member secy, Dy Secy of NCHAC as Dist. Nodal officer and Nodal officer for Diyungbra Block, Principal Secy (N) as nodal officer for Hanagajao block, Nampui, NCHAC Secy as nodal officer for New Sangbar block, Ardao, NCHAC Secy as nodal officer for Diyung block, Hrangkhol, NCHAC Secy as nodal officer for Jatinga Valley block and NHM Dist Programme Manager as the district level coordinator. NCHAC Executive Member for Tourism and Education, Kulendra Daulagupu was present during the programme. Others present were officials from medical department and other departments and senior citizens and public of the town.
