The Education Department of BTC authority ceremoniously distributed 33 gearless scooters to meritorious HS girl students of BPL category at a function held at Udalguri Girls’ HS School auditorium on Friday.
The education department of the BTC also felicitated Mohan Pradhan and Vidhi Beria fifth and sixth position holders in HS Commerce 2018 and Dhritishman Bhuyan sixth position holder in HSLC 2018 and awarded them cheque worth Rs 2 lakhs each.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, State PHE Minister, Rihon Daimari, expressed grave concern for the lowest HSLC performance of Udalguri this year, but expressed satisfaction over the fact that the district got more rank holders, star and distinction holders compared to the last year.
He exhorted the students to work hard with firm determination to face the hurdles of life.
The meet chaired by Director of Education Department, BTC, RS Borgoyary, outlined the schemes of the BTC authority to create a viable educational atmosphere by offering facilities of scholarships to the deserving UPSC aspirants, medical and engineering students and also rewards to rank holders of HSLC and HS examinations.
He also distributed cheques worth Rs. 15,000 and Rs.10,000 each to the HSLC 2017 pass out candidates of BTC region totalling 34 distinction and 152 star marks holders.
The meeting was anchored by Inspector of Schools, Udalguri Bhaben Deury, and addressed by Principal of Udalguri College, Dr.Luke Daimari.
