32 pilgrims and tourists from Assam have finally been brought back to the state on Wednesday night.
The tourists were in Assam House Kolkata, after arriving from the Cyclone Fani struck Odisha and were transported back home by bus.
Out of the 32 travellers, 25 tourists hailing from Tihu in the Nalbari district were dropped off at their residents by Officer in Charge of Tihu Police Station and other seven travellers from Guwahati were taken to their homes at post Wednesday midnight.

Following the direction of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, his media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami interacted with the pilgrims and tourists from the state who were in Odisha when Cyclone Fani hit the coastal state.
The travellers could be brought to state after the state’s revenue and disaster management department took joint action along with Kolkata Assam House officials after the directions from the chief minister of Assam.
Upon their arrival in Kolkata Assam House from Odisha on Monday, the 32 pilgrims were provided food and accommodation by the officials of Assam House.
Although train tickets had been booked for their transportation to Assam the same evening, they were eventually brought home by a special bus after they expressed willingness to travel together by bus instead of train.
The passengers were accompanied by a Junior Liaison Assistant of Assam House Kolkata and a security official.
Drinking water and medicine was also provided for the convenience and safety of the travellers.
