Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday has given out emergency directions to bring back tourists and pilgrims from Assam stuck in Odisha in the aftermath of Cyclone Fani.

The CM directed officials of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to take prompt action to ensure the same return of the pilgrims and tourists.

Notably, 32 pilgrims are being brought back to the state by Kamrup Express, which is scheduled to arrive at Guwahati today, as a result of the actions taken by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department following directives of the Chief Minister.

Earlier also, 34 pilgrims and tourists were brought back to the state from Odisha by train.
