Dibrugarh: Dipa Sen, a yoga exponent from Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh recently brought laurels to the state by wining gold medal in the third Asian Yogasana Sports Cup held at Dubai in UAE.
Dipa bagged the gold medal in traditional Yogasana and Artistic group.
The competition was organised by the Asian Sports Yogasana Federation in Dubai, UAE from June 25 to 27.
“I am very happy that I managed to bag gold medals in both categories. Before, the competition I practiced Yoga every day. I attributed my success to my parents,” Dipa told Northeast Now.
“Before I started to practice Yoga, I was suffering from multiple diseases and had to take lots of medicines. I went to Hyderabad for my treatment and doctors advised me to perform yoga. After that I started performing Yoga, my health condition was improved significantly. Now I am fully fit and have stopped taking medicines,” Dipa said.
She further added, “Yoga has given me strength and teaches me how to lead a healthy life. I have learned Yoga courses from K K Handique Open University and now I teach 30-40 students”.
“Yoga will keep your mind healthy and relaxed if you practised everyday. To stay fit and healthy everybody should practice Yoga regularly,” Dipa said.
