With the detection of 182 new positive cases and 2 more deaths, Assam’s Covid19 tally rose to 2,12,021 and the death toll reached 978.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his tweet on the state’s Covid19 status said the new cases were detected out of 24,426 tests.
Assam’s positivity rate stands at 0.75%.
“182 Cases detected out of 24426 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 0.75%,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district has reported 64 cases.
Meanwhile, 117 more patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, were discharged on Wednesday.
The percentage of the recovered patients in Assam is 97.99%.
Assam currently has 3,277 active Covid19 cases, which is 1.54% of the total cases.
Assam’s Covid19 death rate is 0.46%.
Informing about the demise of two more patients due to Covid19, health minister Sarma in an earlier tweet on Wednesday said: “Sad to share the demise of two #COVID patient today”
The deceased have been identified as Tulon Baruah (85) of Dibrugarh and Kamakhya Sarma (74) of Barpeta.
“Condolences to bereaved families! Om Shanti,” Sarma said.
