Assam’s Covid19 tally increased to 2,07,361 with the detection of 397 new cases on Tuesday while the death toll reached 934 after 2 more patients died due to infection on the day.

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Tuesday informed that the news cases were detected out of 28,884 tests conducted on the day.

Assam’s Covid19 positivity rate stands at 1.31%, Sarma informed.

“379 Cases detected out of 28884 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 1.31%,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro has reported 115 cases.

Meanwhile, 473 more patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, were discharged on Tuesday.

So far a total of 1,98,039 patients have recovered from the disease in the state which is 95.50% of the total cases.

Assam currently has 8,385 active Covid19 cases, which 4.04% of the total cases.

Assam’s current death rate is 0.45%.

Two more Covid19 positive patients passed away on Tuesday.

“Two more #COVID19 patients succumbed to their infections today,” health minister Sarma said in an earlier tweet.

The deceased have been identified as Utshab Chandra Deka (60) of Kamrup Metro and Robin Das (62) of Biswanath.

“My deepest condolences to bereaved families and friends,” Sarma said.
