With the detection of 448 new cases and 3 more patients, Assam’s Covid19 tally increased to 2,05,237 while the death toll reached 917 on Wednesday.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 status on Wednesday said the new cases have been detected out of 26,150 tests.

Assam’s positivity rate stands at 1.71%, Sarma said.
“448 Cases detected out of 26150 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 1.71%,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district has registered 118 cases.

Meanwhile, 1,487 more patients have been discharged in Assam after their recovery.
So far a total of 1,92,514 patients have recovered from the disease in Assam, which is 93.80% of the total cases.
Assam currently has 11,803 active Covid19 cases, which is 5.75% of the total cases.
On Wednesday, Assam recorded 3 more Covid19 deaths. The state’s death rate is 0.44%.
“Three more #COVID patients have succumbed to their infections today,” health minister Sarma said in another tweet.
The deceased have been identified as Anima Rani Deb (65) of Kamrup Metro; Probin Shyam (83) and Bijoy Paik (58) of Golaghat.
Sarma said: “We stand with all bereaved families in this hour of grief. Deepest condolences!”
