Assam’s COVID-19 situation grim: 1651 fresh cases, 3 more deaths

The COVID-19 situation in Assam has deteriorated further on Tuesday.

As many as 1651 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Assam on Tuesday. 

3 more COVID-19 deaths were also recorded in Assam on Tuesday. 

While the Kamrup-Metro reported 2 deaths due to COVID-19, Cachar reported 1 death case.

According to latest update, out of the total 1651 fresh COVID-19 cases detected in Assam, 742 cases have been detected from in and around Guwahati city in Kamrup Metro district. 

High numbers of new COVID-19 cases have been reported from Dibrugarh – 90, Kamrup Rural – 90 and Sonitpur – 82. 

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Assam on Tuesday was recorded at 2.46%. 

The fresh 1651 COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, reported on Tuesday, were detected after conducting test of 67151 samples.

Assam currently has 7685 active COVID-19 cases while 279 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll in Assam has risen to 1145.
