According to sources, the lecturer kept the minor girl in his home with a promise to her family that he would provide good education to her.

She was his sister-in-law in relation and belonged to a poor family.

But Narzary broke his faith and raped the minor girl, who was studying in Class 10, at his home.

Before taking the extreme step, the minor girl wrote a suicide note to her boyfriend where she had mentioned that she was raped by Prabin Narzary and later committed suicide in Narzary’s home.

After the girl’s boyfriend made the suicide note public, the victim’s family lodged an FIR at Runikhata PS and on the basis of the FIR, the police on Tuesday arrested the college teacher.

The college teacher tried to cover up the whole incident but the media and police foiled his attempt.

Meanwhile, various organisations including All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) have demanded capital punishment to Narzary.
