The Assam University in Silchar has issued guidelines on conducting the semester examination in both online and offline modes.
In a notification issued by Controller of Examination (CoE) in-charge L Bojen Singh, the offline examination for TDC 6th Semester (Non-CBCS) together with arrear papers will begin from September 29.

Students willing to appear in the examination in the online mode shall have to follow certain modalities.
As per the notification, students who have submitted their examination forms and were found eligible need to submit their details including name, roll number, subject indicating paper, email id and WhatsApp number along with a prescribed undertaking provided by the university to their colleges on or before September 20.
The colleges have been asked to submit the details of such students to the university on or before September 22.

The CoE said the examination in the online mode shall be conducted by the colleges on the Google Meet platform.
Students desirous to appear in the online examination should ensure that they will arrange the gadgets – computer, tab, mobile phone, etc.– as well as internet connectivity and power supply on their own.
The question paper will be given in the Google classroom or mail and the examinees shall have to take printouts or screen shots of the question papers which can be used to write the answers and then join the Google Meet platform.
The answer sheets will be submitted in the Google Classroom as per the schedule of the offline examination at the same time.
However, it will be invigilated by one faculty of the college on camera who will authenticate the downloaded hard copy.
The Google Meet link and classroom id should be given to the examination section in the specified mail id – [email protected].
The camera of the gadget should be on and mike should be kept off for the entire time period of the examination.
The students appearing in the examination in the online mode shall be allowed extra time for preparation – 10 minutes before commencement of examination for downloading the question paper, 20 minutes after completion of examination for uploading the answer script.
Non-submission of the online answer script after completion of examination within the stipulated time will be treated as absent.
However, students appearing in the online mode cannot switch over to offline mode and vice versa.
The controller further said that practical examinations will be conducted in the offline mode.
