An emergency food relief and community-based psycho-social support drive is currently being implemented by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), North-East Region and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the 175 BN- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Rani Development Block on the outskirts of Guwahati.
On Monday, the team extended distribution of grocery kits to 280 households covering Sanpara, Medhipara, Kochpara, Doleypara, Nazipara, Bhagawatipara and Bharalipara villages located under the Uttar Bholagaon Gram Panchayat.

The drive was smoothly conducted ensuring appropriate social distancing and personal and public hygiene behaviours.
To enliven the situation, special Bihu songs were performed by the soldiers of the battalion along with few community members.
Sanjeev Jindal, regional executive director, AAI, NER and Manoj Singh, deputy commandant, 175 BN CRPF, also rendered their voluntary services during the drive, by distributing grocery kits to local beneficiaries.

With a vision of re-establishing social solidarity in the prevailing crisis due to COVID-19, AAI and UNDP, will continue the drive across the block for the next few weeks with a target of reaching out to 2000 households, stated a press release.
