Guwahati: Two women in Udalguri, Assam were killed after a tree fell on them during a storm on Tuesday night.

As per reports, the deceased were identified as Geeta Narzary and Sabita Musahary.

Both the deceased were residents of Gohpur and had come for a visit to Udalguri.

The tree with weak roots due to its age was uprooted by the storm claiming the lives of the two women.

While locals tried to take the two women to a hospital for treatment, it was too late.

Both the women died before getting any medical attention.

An investigation is being carried by the police.
