Two NSCN (K) militants, Angam Wangsu and Paras Gurung were apprehended by the security forces from Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh and Charaideo district in upper Assam during two separate search operations carried out since last evening.
According to information, Angam Wangsu was arrested by the Longding Battalion of the army last night from a hideout in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Gurung who has been working for the NSCN k since 2016 was arrested by the security forces from Namtola area under Namtola police station in upper Assam’s Charaideo district on Tuesday morning.
According to police officials, both of them were involved in massive extortion for the NSCN (K).
A massive operation is underway in eastern Nagaland and adjoining eastern Arunachal districts following the deadly ambush on an Assam Rifles patrol near Aboi in Mon district of Nagaland on Sunday afternoon where two Assam Rifles personnel were killed in the attack carried out by a joint team of NSCN (K) and ULFA (I) rebels.
