Guwahati: Two minor girls reportedly drowned in the Pahumara River in Bajali, Assam on Tuesday.
The incident took place near the Dhumarkur area of Bajali, Assam.

The minor girls identified to be between the ages 10 and 12 along with another minor of the same age had gone to the river to take a bath.

However, the current of the river reportedly pulled them in and they drowned.

Some locals claimed that the minors fell into the deeper part of the river.
After they fell, locals alerted the emergency services and one of the minors was rescued.
However, despite efforts, the other two minors were recovered dead from the water.
The rescued minor has been transferred for medical treatment while an investigation is being carried out to find out what exactly happened on the river bank.
