Tripura Assam Manipur: Smuggling ring busted, drugs worth Rs 9.59 crore seized

Guwahati: Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested in Goalpara, Assam by the police on Sunday night.

As per reports, the suspects were nabbed by a team of the Matia Police Station from the Shimolitola area of Goalpara, Assam. 

A police source said that acting on a tip-off, the team targeted the Shimolitla-Baghmara parghat area.

The operation resulted in the arrest of Mizanur Rahman (28) and Akbar Ali (18), both residents of Shimolitola.

The police further seized 50 drug containers with a total weight of 59.33 grams from the suspects.

Of the nabbed suspects, Mizanur Rahman has a prior history of drug trafficking.

The arrested individuals are currently under police interrogation, and further investigation is underway.
