Assam: Two dacoits nabbed after a chase in North Guwahati

Guwahati: Two alleged dacoits have been arrested by the police from Rangia in Kamrup, Assam on Wednesday night after a long chase.

As per reports, the accused were arrested from Rangia.

The suspects, Rana Ali and Siddique Ali were alleged of involvement in numerous robberies across the region.

Their arrest comes after an escape attempt from the scene of a crime in Sila village located in North Guwahati.

Following a tip-off regarding the robbery, police initiated a pursuit to nab them.

After a chase, the suspects were cornered by the Gauripur Police.

The suspects, according to the police, were attempting to flee with stolen cash amounting to Rs 16,000.

Apart from the money, the police also seized a vehicle and various “incriminating” materials from the suspects.

Police said that they are currently collecting further evidence to determine the extent of their “criminal network”.
