A new railway service has been added in Dhubri district of Assam after a train was run on trial basis in the newly constructed Gauripur-Alamganj-Bilasipara railway line in the district.

The new railway line is 38 km long.

The trial run was launched at Bilasipara in Dhubri district in presence of top Railway officials.

There has been a long-standing demand of the people of the area from Gauripur to Alamganj and Bilasipara that the area be connected with railway line.

With the regular running of trains on this newly-constructed railway line, the people will heave a sigh of relief as train journey has been considered as not only a comfortable journey but also cost effective.

Meanwhile, the North East Frontier (NFR) railway authority has added extra coach in the Rajdhani Express that runs from New Delhi to Dibrugarh Town and Dibrugarh to New Delhi for summer rush.

According to a promo uploaded on the official Twitter handle of the NFR, one additional coach will be attached with 12424/12423 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Town-New Delhi Rajdhani Express train on temporary basis to clear extra rush of passengers during summer.

According to information, the three-tier AC 12424 New Delhi-Dibrugarh Town Rajdhani Express will run from April 6, 2019 to July 2, 2019.

On the other hand, the three-tier AC 12423 Dibrugarh Town-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will run from April 8, 2019 to July 4, 2019.
