Guwahati: At least three persons were arrested in Guwahati, Assam with a stack of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN).

According to sources, the Special Task Force (STF) based on inputs, conducted a raid at an apartment complex in the Bormotoria area of Dispur.

During the raid, the police apprehended three men suspected of being involved in FICN circulation.

On interrogating and checking them on the spot, the police found a bundle of 28 counterfeit Rs 500 notes.

The total face value of the notes was said to be worth Rs 14,000.

The police immediately arrested the suspects and seized the FICN along with a vehicle from their possession.

The accused were identified as Nur Alom of Lakhimpur, Sahidul Alom and Munna Ahmed, both residents of Darrang.

Police informed that six mobile phones among other items were also seized from their possession and further investigation has been initiated.
