Guwahati: Tezpur University (TU) has begun admissions for a new Master of Technology (M.Tech.) program in Semiconductor Technology, starting in the academic session 2024-25.
This specialized program, offered by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, equips students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in this rapidly evolving field.
The two-year, full-time M.Tech. program combines rigorous coursework with hands-on experience. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates to meet the industry’s growing demand for skilled professionals in semiconductor design, manufacturing, and innovation.
“Semiconductors are essential to nearly every sector of the economy,” said Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of TU.
“This multidisciplinary program aligns with India’s Semiconductor Mission to establish the country as a global leader in this critical field,” he said.
Applicants must hold a B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related fields, or an M.Sc. in Physics or Electronics with a specialization in relevant areas.
Graduates of the M.Tech. in Semiconductor Technology can pursue careers in research, development, design, and fabrication across various industries like electronics, IT, and telecommunications.
