Assam tea on Tuesday created history after Manohari Gold Tea of Assam’s Dibrugarh district was auctioned at Rs 99,999 per kilogram during the auction in Guwahati Tea Auction Centre.

The Manohari Gold Tea was auctioned in Sale No.50 in Guwahati Tea Auction Centre.
According to reports, the gold tea at the price was purchased by the highest bidder, Saurav Tea Traders.
Last year, the Manohari Gold Tea was sold at Rs 75,000 per kilogram, the highest in the year, at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC).

Saurav Tea Traders purchased one kg of the expensive variety of orthodox Assam tea during the auction at GTAC on Tuesday.
Guwahati Tea Auction Buyers’ Association secretary Dinesh Bihani said it was a proud moment for the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre where Manohari Gold Tea of Dibrugarh created history once again by breaking its own record.

Bahini hoped that foreign buyers would also like such Indian specialty teas.
He wished that more sellers come up with specialty tea and make India a hub for specialty teas.
