The Sanika Munda Memorial Inter Garden football tournament concluded at Orangajuli T E playground in Assam’s Udalguri district on Sunday.

The tournament was participated by 14 tea gardens under Mangaldoi branch Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS).

The tournament that began from August 4 witnessed the final match on Sunday.

In the final match played between Paneri tea estate and Chandana tea estate.

Paneri T E lifted the champion’s trophy defeating its rival by 3-0 goals.

In the keenly contested final Bulon Singh Mali gave the first two goals in 36th minute of first half and 57th minute of second half.

While Ram Logun gave the final goal in 77th minute of second half.

The best player was adjudged to Josen Porja.

The event organized by the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS), Mangaldoi branch was graced as chief guest by Paban Singh Ghatowar along with host of dignitaries.

Among others included ACMS Mangaldoi branch secretary and president Santiuse Kujur and Paban Nayak, general manager of Orangajuli T E, Talat Ahmed, president and secretary of the tournament Sanjit Tanti and Sanjay Deka, andAdivasi Development Council Member, Paul Toppo.

The champions were handed over a cheque of Rs 15,000 while the runners up with Rs 10,000 along with a trophies.
