AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has said that talks on the Congress-AIUDF alliance for the upcoming state assembly elections are at the final stage.
The Lok Sabha MP said this during a CSR programme organized by the Ajmal Foundation in the Deshabandhu Vidyalaya High School in Assam’s Hojai on Friday.
Badruddin Ajmal said,” Talks on Congress and AIUDF ties are at the final stage and it is definitely going to be a strong alliance to remove the ruling BJP state government from power in the upcoming legislative assembly.”

Regarding Assam health minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma’s comment on different platforms on 65/35 seat equation Ajmal said,” I don’t feel that I should react at others comment, they are doing their work, we ours.”
He further said, “Earlier Sarma use to say BJP will secure more than a hundred seats in the next assembly elections, but now he talks of the 65/35 equation, meaning BJP will get 35 seats and AIUDF-Congress alliance 65 seats.”
Terming the trend of Congress workers joining BJP as unfortunate, the MP urged the Assam Congress leadership to look into the matter and sort out the differences within the party.
On the other hand, the Ajmal Foundation distributed 500 blankets among underprivileged people of Hojai during the occasion.
