Dibrugarh: A student from Dibrugarh, Assam has been missing since Friday after falling into the Simen River in Dhemaji while taking a selfie.

Hazarika, a student at Gyan Vigyan School, was visiting Murkongselek in Dhemaji district with a group of six friends when the incident occurred.
According to reports, Hazarika slipped or fell into the river while taking selfies.

His friends immediately alerted police, and a search operation was launched by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
“Police have begun investigating the matter,” informed officials.
Hazarika hails from the Boiragimoth area of Dibrugarh.
