But over the past few weeks, incidents of boys spitting on girls have increased and once such incident took place on Friday evening as well.

As per reports, bikers on Friday evening spat on two girls while they were returning from market to their hostel room.

“The bikers did not just spit on us, but they even used filthy words as well,” said one of the victims seeking anonymity.

The spits are mostly that of gutkha and paan, they further said.

“The spitters come riding in high-speed motorbikes, spits on us and speedingly disappear before we could realise,” the victims said.

“We feel insecure and this is hampering our studies,” they further said.

Reacting to the rise in such nuisance, locals said that outside elements are trying to defame the town.

“The culprits are trying to defame the town. They, we feel, are from outside and are trying to portray Pathsala as an unsafe place for girls,” they said.

The locals and the victims have urged the police department to take stern actions against the culprits.

SDPO of Bajali Birinchi Bora informed that steps will be taken to nab such culprits.
