He also took details of suspected people who have been sent to the four quarantine centres in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district.

Later, in a media briefing, Sonowal said there would not be a compromise on social distancing during the nationwide lockdown despite some sectors are being relaxed in the third phase.

“No vaccine or medicine has been discovered yet in the world so far. If we are to beat coronavirus, then social distancing is the only way to do it,” Sonowal said.

“I urge the people of the state to strictly follow the third phase of lockdown as they did during the first and the second phase,” Sonowal said.

“Many people are still stranded in several parts of the country due to the lockdown. I request the police to not to be harsh against them,” Sonowal said.
