The six government-nominated members of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) took the oath of office and secrecy at the BTC Assembly auditorium in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.

The nominated members are Madhav Chandra Chetri, Sarnapawati Deka, Wilson Hasda, Hemanta Kumar Rabha, Pradeep Kumar Bayan and Arpana Medhi.

BTC Speaker Katiram Boro administered the oath during the swearing-in ceremony in the presence of BTC chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro, deputy chief Gobinda Basumatary and other executive members.

In his speech, BTC chief executive member Boro congratulated the nominated members and urged them to work for the people.

He said the people have a lot of expectations from the new government in BTC and “we need to work with a positive mindset. Our ideology may be different but we all need to work for the all-round development of the Bodoland region”.

“If we can work as a team, we can bring lots of development. We need dynamic hardworking people,” Boro said.

“I am sure and hopeful that we, all the elected members and government officials, will work as a team and carry on our agenda of developmental work,” he said.

He called upon all to work hard to fulfil the expectations of the people.

BTC chief Pramod Boro also stressed the need to digitise all the departments in the Council for the smooth and proper functioning of the works.
