In view of the worldwide outbreak of COVID-19, the deputy commissioner of eastern Assam’s Sivasagar, Lakhinandan Gogoi vide an order issued recently constituted revenue circle wise teams for the district for taking precautionary and preventive measures in view of unhygienic sale of fish in fish markets as well as unauthorized roadside vendors selling fish in the open on roadside or footpath etc.
As per the order, the additional deputy commissioner (Fishery), Sivasagar will be the overall in-charge of the supervisory teams.
The teams of the respective revenue circles will visit all such recognized fish markets under town committees or municipal boards or village markets to ensure that fish are preserved in hygienic condition so that the fish sold to the consumers do not have any adverse impact on their health.
The order will come into force with immediate effect.
