Several people have participated in a signature campaign organized by the Janasankhya Samadhan Foundation (JSF) in Assam’s Darrang district demanding the implementation of strict population control policies in the country.

A delegation of JSF met Darrang deputy commissioner, Dilip Kumar Borah and superintendent of police, Amrit Bhuyan apprising them of the organization’s objectives and present activities.

The two officials assured them of the necessary support to carry forward their campaign.

The JSF has launched a nation-wide campaign in demand of population control laws by the central government at the earliest.

The signature campaign highlighted several issues arising out of the population explosion in the Darrang district.

“We have to mobilize people to create pressure on the central government to implement policies to control the growing population of the country,” said a member of JSF.
