Assam: Senior citizens made aware of legal aids

The Udalguri District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) recently organised a meeting for generating awareness on the various legal benefits, provisions and facilities available to the senior citizens.

The meeting was held at Udalguri Girls’ HS School.

The meeting was held in association by Udalguri District Senior Citizens’ Association, Retired Teachers’ Association, Udalguri and Bodo Pensioners’ Association.

Chaired by Udalguri’s senior advocate Jayanta Kumar Brahma, the theme of the meeting was explained in details by Kingkini Borah, AJS secretary of DLSA, Udalguri.

The meeting primarily discussed the constitutional rights and privileges available for the senior citizens.

In his address to the gathering, advocate Jayanta Kumar Brahma elaborated about the various legal facilities available to the senior citizens residing in the remote areas.

He also informed the gathering about the special facilities available to the senior citizens at airports, railway stations, bus stands and other public places.
