Assam schools will re-open for class 10 from September 20. 

Re-opening of schools for class 10 was approved by Assam cabinet on Thursday.

Assam education minister Ranuj Pegu said: “The cabinet has decided to allow re-opening of physical classes for class X from September 20.” 

Notably, classes for final year of higher secondary and final semester of TDC already began on September 6. 

Meanwhile, the Assam education minister further said that a decision on re-opening of schools for other classes will be taken after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state in the next 10 days.

Pegu said: “If COVID situation in Assam improves further within the next 10 days, a decision on re-opening of schools for other classes will be taken.” 

“I would like to ask all parents and students to prepare themselves for resumption of physical classes soon,” he added.
