Assam: Treasury department employee caught red-handed taking bribe from policeman

An employee of the Assam treasury department has been arrested after being caught red-handed taking bribe. 

The incident has been reported from Nagaon district of Assam.

The arrested employee has been identified as Junior Accounts Assistant Khushbu Harlalka. 

She was caught red-handed taking bribe of Rs 1000 from constable Nabin Bora for releasing his Government Provident Fund (GPF) money. 

“Bora had informed me that she had demanded money from him and a trap was laid to catch her red-handed,” Nagaon SP Anand Mishra said.

He added: “A team of policewomen in plain clothes was posted at her office and they videographed her accepting bribe from the constable, and nabbed her.”
