Prompt action by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of NF Railway saved the life of an old man from a fatal accident in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

Displaying an ultimate act of courage and alertness on duty, AB Sikdar, RPF Head Constable of Tinsukia Division saved the life of an old man while boarding/deboarding 15603 Guwahati-Ledo intercity express at Tinsukia Railway Station.

The incident took place at Tinsukia Railway Station platform No. 2 on December 11, 2021.

The mishap was about to happen when the old man was trying to board the train to collect his luggage which he forgot.

While trying to get in he slipped and he was dragged with the train up to some distance.

By seeing this, Head Constable AB Sikdar reacted promptly and ran to pull him out and saved the passenger from fatal injury.

The whole act of exemplary courage, which inspires all of us, though couldn’t be captured properly in CCTV camera, as the incident happened just under the camera; yet, it was captured partially, which clearly displays the splendid act of courage and alertness on duty.

Passengers are requested not to board/deboard a moving train; it may put life at risk.
