Assam reported another Covid19 death on Thursday, taking the total toll to 1,123, which is the highest in Northeast India.

The patient, who died of Covid19 infection in Assam on Thursday, was a resident of Kamrup Metro district.

As per the latest Covid19 media bulletin, released by the Assam health & welfare department on Thursday (April 15, 2021), the state recorded 499 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

The positive cases were detected out of the total 18,323 Covid19 tests.

Assam’s Covid19 positivity rate on Thursday stood at 1.72%

On Thursday, a total of 85 patients were discharged from various hospitals in Assam after their recovery from the disease.

Assam currently has 3,613 Covid19 active cases.

The highest caseload districts in Assam on Thursday included Kamrup Metro district which reported 255 new cases, Dibrugarh district which reported 64 cases while Kamrup Rural reported 31 new cases and Tinsukia district recorded 24 new Covid19 positive cases.

So far, 77,31,871 Covid19 tests have been conducted in Assam.

Assam has so far registered 2,22,367 Covid19 positive cases while 2,16,284 patients have been discharged.

Assam’s Covid19 recovery rate is 97.26% and the death rate is 0.51%

According to the bulletin, 1,347 Covid19 positive patients have died for other reasons in Assam.
