Assam has registered 735 new COVID19 cases on Sunday, taking the state’s overall tally to 16,806.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday said: “Alert ~ 735 new #COVID ve+ cases in Assam, 400 in Guwahati alone.”
“Awareness – Precautions – Care – Compassion” are the key against COVID19, the health minister said.

With the detection of the new cases, the state’s active COVID19 cases in Assam now stand at 5,873.
Earlier, a total of 10,894 people, who were earlier, infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
On Sunday, a total of 468 people have been discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals across the state.
Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday said: “Discharge Alert. 468 patients discharged today.”
