Assam has registered 735 new COVID19 cases on Sunday, taking the stateโ€™s overall tally to 16,806.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday said: โ€œAlert ~ 735 new #COVID ve+ cases in Assam, 400 in Guwahati alone.โ€

โ€œAwareness โ€“ Precautions โ€“ Care โ€“ Compassionโ€ are the key against COVID19, the health minister said.

With the detection of the new cases, the stateโ€™s active COVID19 cases in Assam now stand at 5,873.

Earlier, a total of 10,894 people, who were earlier, infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.

On Sunday, a total of 468 people have been discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals across the state.

Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Sunday said: โ€œDischarge Alert. 468 patients discharged today.โ€
