Assam has registered 8 more new COVID19 positive cases on Thursday taking the total to 199.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday evening said the infected patients are from Kokrajhar, Sivasagar, Dhubri, and Dibrugarh districts.
While 3 COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Kokrajhar, 2 have been reported from Sivasagar district, 2 from Dhubri district, and 1 case has been detected in Dibrugarh.
“Alert ~ Eight persons found #COVID19 positive – 3 from Kokrajhar; 2 from Sivasagar; 2 from Dhubri; 1 from Dibrugarh,” tweeted health minister Sarma.
With the new cases registered in Assam, the active COVID19 cases in the state increased to 138.
Earlier, a total of 54 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their recovery.
At a time when Assam continues to register new COVID19 positive cases every day, 6 patients were discharged from two different hospitals in Assam on Thursday after their recovery.
Two patients were discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar in Guwahati and four other patients were discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) in Cachar district of Assam’s Barak Valley.
While the disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam, 3 cases migrated from the state.
